Fr. Pablo Matta a Pecos, Texas Native He is the son of +Pablo and Juanita Matta he has one sister and three brothers, he is a graduate of Pecos High School and Graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelors degree in Psychology, he later attended The University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary were he received a Masters in Theology degree. He was ordained a Priest in the Diocese of El Paso in 1990. His first assignment as a priest was in Our Lady of Mt Carmel. He has served at Corpus Christi Church, Holy Spirit Church and St. Patrick Cathedral. Fr. Matta worked in the Gang Ministry where he helped and advised the youth to stay away from gangs. In 2002 he was assigned to St. Jude and Santa Teresita Mission and was later given the administration of two additional parishes St. Patrick in Canutillo and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Westway. His passion for Social Justice led him to be a founding member of Border Interfaith a Non Profit Organization that specializes in Social Justice Causes in West El Paso. Fr. Matta responsibilities include Chaplain for Las Palmas Hospital, board member of DRMS, Board Member for Project Arriba and he is Cofounder of the Northwest Community Health Center in the Canutillo-Westway area. Fr. Matta enjoys Basketball , reading and is passionate of immigrant rights.
